SAP BW/4HANA Migration….why are we waiting?

Are you one of those people that "if it isn't broke don't fix it" or "hope for the best".

Well that seems to be the case with The Ireland Health Service Executive (HSE) who now must pay millions of Euro because of a failure to upgrade most of its computers. This cost will continually rise each year, if the outdated system remains. It has been five years since Microsoft began warning customers that support for Windows 7 would end in 2020.

In terms of an SAP BW solution (except for BW 7.5), there will be no more support maintenance for all SAP BW solutions as of December 2020 (except for BW 7.5).

Is it acceptable for your organisation to be out of support for a software contract?

Are you losing the competitive edge by not upgrading?

Don't worry the world isn't ending, you still have two options:

1. Upgrade to BW 7.5 solution so that you will have support maintenance until end Dec 2024, (not a solution just a postponement of what will inevitably have to be done).

OR

2. Migrate your system to a BW/4HANA (SAP's new Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) solution).

No point in wasting time, right? Start planning now, "A goal without a plan is just a wish".
